Two position papers launched within Danube-INCO.NET
Within the Danube-INCO.NET project (a Coordination and Support action to address the EU Strategy for the Danube Region in the field of Research and Innovation), two position papers have been elaborated:
DANUBIONET position paper for the development of Bioeconomy in the Danube region
"DANUBIONET" is a pilot activity within Danube-INCO.NET which intends to foster the development of sustainable energy towards a bio-based economy, with a particular focus on the Middle Danube area and on biomass feedstock from agricultural and forestry activities, as well as organic industrial by-products.
The DANUBIONET Position Paper aims at illustrating critical bottlenecks hindering the deployment of Bioenergy and Bioeconomy in the Danube Region, while suggesting possible countermeasures. It builds upon the results of a survey which addressed stakeholders along the Bioeconomy value chains in a Triple-Helix perspective, (addressing academia, industry and policymakers) in order to assess their competences and desiderata. Furthermore, it draws from the inputs collected in the context of two Open Innovation events that allowed sensing stakeholders’ expectations in a more direct, yet informal manner.

Position paper: Bioeconomy for the Danube region
The Pilot Action "Towards a Danube bioeconomy RTI strategy for appropriate regional added value chains" aims at supporting and developing a bioeconomy RTI-strategy and a related research and innovation agenda for the Danube Region.
The position paper aims at mapping bioeconomy related policies in the Danube Region and at supporting the initiation of national RTI bioeconomy strategies. It builds on a document analysis and three expert workshops that have been organised within the EU project Danube-INCO.net, as well as on an online consultation.
