JPI HDHL Conference urges increased impact of nutritional science

On 1 December 2017 the 4th conference of the JPI a Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life took place in Brussels, Belgium. Nearly 200 people from various domains in the area of food, nutrition and health gathered to discuss the societal impact of nutritional science.

The day consisted of inspirational plenary talks, parallel workshops and an audience debate, during which several provocative motions were enthusiastically debated. A special element of the conference were the elevator pitches. Young scientists from all over Europe were given the opportunity to give a two-minute pitch about the research project they are involved in. Not only did this showcase young talent, but it also emphasized the importance of clear communication about research.

At the end of the conference, the general messages that were taken home were the necessity of working together and good communication, and a sense of urgency about increasing societal impact of nutritional research.

The full report of the conference and presentations are available on the JPI HDHL website and Conference website. On the latest website also the aftermovie of the conference can be found.
