ForestValue call for proposals 2017 open
The new H2020 ERA-NET Cofund ‘ForestValue – Innovating forest-based bioeconomy’ started on 1 October 2017. ForestValue builds on the success of three FP7 forest-related ERA-NETs: WoodWisdom-Net, SUMFOREST and FORESTERRA. The overall objective of ForestValue is to promote increased innovation and competitiveness of the forest-based sector in Europe and support its transformation from a resource-intensive to a knowledge-intensive, productive, resource-efficient and resilient sector.
On 17 October ForestValue has opened the “ForestValue call for proposals 2017” for research, development and innovation in the forest-based sector. The overarching aim of the call is to support projects that will address the development and/or proof of concepts on novel strategies, methods, processes or products designed to support the forestry and forest-based industries including their respective partners, resellers, consumers and end-users in remaining competitive and efficient providers of sustainable bio-products and services.
The call will address the whole forest-based value chain in two areas:
A. Innovative sustainable management of multifunctional forests
B. Innovative industrial production and processing technologies, products, concepts and services
(For focal areas for each of the themes, please see the call text.)
The call entails a large budget which consist of funding from public funding organisations, and top-up funding from the European Commission.
On 15 November 2017 a networking webinar will take place to give researchers the chance to interlink with each other and enlarge consortia. The submission of pre-proposals closes on 23 January 2018.
